The Data Lineage team develops automated lineage harvesting and an API and UI to track and visualize the transformations on data assets that customers host in BigQuery and other locations. Lineage is a key enabler for business users and data engineers to discover relevant data assets, resolve data incidents, forecast the impact of changes, ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (in particular with respect to machine learning (ML) models).
